This was a modification by Ford only fitted to the later 2.8/2.9 2wd XR4i/Scorpio and 4x4 sierra but never to the 1.6/2.0 or Capri 2.8i versions and must not be mistaken for the longer needle bearing modification which still uses the layshaft. The ratios are 1st 3.36, 2nd 1.81, 3rd 1.26, 4th 1, 5th 0.825.The removal of the layshaft allows greater lubrication to the front of the laygear where most of the Type 9 problems occur. Tuners like Turbo Technics and Caterham used this format on their V6 gearboxes that were coupled to power upgrades. Ive never seen it done other than my own conversions! The main casing has been powder coated in satin black, the tail housing and sandwich plate have been powder coated in metallic silver and all the bolts and covers have been electroplated. You will need to modify a bell housing to accommodate the stub axle, simple cutout at the bottom. No speedo drive is included, let me know if you need one and Ill see what I have available. THE GEARBOX REQUIRES OIL TO BE ADDED (NOT SUPPLIED).
