It has a roller race bearing in the front of the laygear with the support of a stub axle to prevent the laygear dropping. This eliminates the use of a layshaft and massively improves the lubrication. Ford created this modification after several failures of the standard V6 gearbox used in the 2.8i Capri and it was widely used in the Sierra XR4i and XR4x4. It has been fully overhauled/built by a gearbox expert who is also ex-Ford main dealer trained. It has a new stub shaft, new bearings/seals/gaskets, The main casing, lid, tail housing and sandwich plate have been powder coated and all the other metal bits have been electroplated.The internals are pristine as per the photos. Youll need to cut a bit from the mounting face of your bellhousing to accommodate the stub shaft.
